Cutting-Edge Hyperspectral Camera Solutions - Critical Real-Time Insights for UAV-Based Applications

Germany

Cubert stands at the forefront of innovative hyperspectral camera technology, delivering essential real-time data for various UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) remote sensing applications, including precision agriculture, environmental assessment, and tactical surveillance.

Aerial hyperspectral imaging solution

UAV Hyperspectral Imaging Solutions

In contrast too standard cameras that capture only three RGB channels, hyperspectral cameras can analyze the response of objects across numerous bands. Our ULTRIS X20P, engineered for drone applications, evaluates over 160 spectral bands within the 350 to 1000 nm spectrum.

Equipped with exclusive snapshot imaging technology, our cameras surpass customary hyperspectral systems like push-broom sensors. They capture entire scenes instantaneously, facilitating live data collection at video rates. By eliminating the need for scanning, our devices guarantee consistent, high-quality images even in the dynamic surroundings of drone flight.

Cubert’s groundbreaking hyperspectral imaging captures both light intensity and direction, yielding detailed spectral data for each pixel and enabling elegant post-processing options like refocusing. The data obtained from hyperspectral drone imaging is invaluable for assessing current terrain conditions and tracking changes over time.

Key Applications

Military & Tactical Operations

UAV-mounted hyperspectral imagers offer notable tactical benefits for military and governmental missions, enhancing situational awareness and facilitating better decision-making. By analyzing material-specific reflective properties, these systems can identify camouflaged, concealed, or buried targets, even in dense vegetation, low light, or challenging terrains.

These airborne sensors are also crucial for early detection of CBRN (chemical,Biological,Radiological, and Nuclear) threats. They can identify the unique spectral signatures of chemical agents, biological threats, and remnants of unexploded ordnance from a safe distance, eliminating the need for personnel to enter hazardous zones.

Additionally, spectral forensics can be employed for thorough detection of IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices) and landmines.Subtle changes in the ground or disturbed vegetation can be algorithmically detected, classified, and georeferenced.

Civil Security & Emergency Response

The ability to detect hazardous materials, contaminated zones, or altered landscapes through drone-based hyperspectral reconnaissance equips first responders and governmental agencies with essential tools during critical situations where time is crucial. UAVs can identify pollutants in industrial sites or ports, locate leaks, and outline hazardous areas without endangering personnel.

In disaster scenarios such as wildfires, floods,or chemical spills, aerial reconnaissance provides accurate,real-time imagery with detailed spectral information. This data is vital for prioritizing response actions, coordinating emergency services, and assessing risks to vulnerable infrastructure.

Precision Agriculture & Research

Hyperspectral UAV technology has revolutionized phenotyping in modern agriculture. By systematically capturing the spectral signatures of individual plants, it allows for objective evaluation of agronomic characteristics such as chlorophyll levels, water stress, nutrient absorption, and disease susceptibility.Early detection of conditions like osmotic stress, salinity, or heat shock is absolutely possible through specific spectral signals, significantly speeding up the selection process.

Spectral vegetation indices, including NDVI, can reliably predict biomass growth and yield potential. The accurate identification of field variability enhances the statistical reliability and efficiency of agricultural trials, and this drone-acquired data can be integrated into GIS and phenotyping systems.

Industrial Inspection & Quality Assurance

UAV-enabled hyperspectral analysis offers a dependable non-contact approach for material and process monitoring in various industrial sectors, including raw material processing, chemical manufacturing, and plant engineering. The ability to identify surface materials, contaminants, changes in materials, or wear conditions facilitates predictive maintenance, boosts efficiency, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. This capability is particularly vital in safety-sensitive industries such as energy, petrochemicals, and transportation logistics.
