Norway

Maritime Robotics stands at the forefront of innovative autonomous navigation solutions and uncrewed surface vessel (USV) technologies, enhancing maritime operations with unprecedented efficiency, safety, and sustainability. For nearly 20 years, we have partnered with a diverse clientele globally, providing advancements across various applications such as marine mapping and surveying, environmental monitoring, surveillance and inspection, among others.

Autonomous Navigation Technology

Advanced marine navigation solutions for enhanced vessel safety

autonomous navigation system

Our state-of-the-art Autonomous Navigation Technology integrates sophisticated sensors with advanced processing capabilities, ensuring uncrewed vessels navigate safely and operate efficiently. This system comprises three essential elements:

Vehicle Control System & Remote Monitoring Center – facilitates continuous real-time control and oversight of the vessel from any location, providing critical updates to maximize safety and operational efficiency.

SeaControl – a robust onboard management system that oversees all operational functions, from navigation to system diagnostics.

seasight – a thorough situational awareness and collision prevention system that offers real-time detection and evaluation of environmental conditions and potential threats. The Autonomous Navigation Technology can be adapted for various vessel types and customized to meet specific autonomy needs, ranging from human-in-the-loop to fully autonomous operations.

Uncrewed Surface vessels

Otter

Modular catamaran USV designed for effective data collection

Otter usv

The Otter is a highly portable catamaran USV, perfect for bathymetric and hydrographic surveys, scientific data gathering, environmental assessments, and surveillance tasks. Its lightweight, modular design allows for quick assembly or disassembly by a single operator and easy transport in a compact vehicle.

Otter catamaran USVThis fully-electric, eco-kind vessel operates on up to four easily replaceable battery packs, achieving an impressive endurance of up to 20 hours at 2 knots. It can be outfitted with a variety of sensors and additional equipment to meet diverse operational needs.

Mariner

Mid-sized USV for both autonomous and remote-controlled missions

Mid-sized USV

The Mariner is a robust mid-sized USV featuring a durable polyethylene hull and a combination of water jet propulsion and bow thrusters for precise navigation. It can operate autonomously or be controlled remotely, with options for deployment and recovery from shore or a vessel using a custom Launch and Recovery System (LARS).

This vessel can accommodate a wide range of payloads and can be equipped with a moonpool elevator or fixed gondola for efficient and high-quality data collection.

Mariner X

High-capacity USV with extended endurance and customizable back deck

Mariner X Long-endurance USV

The Mariner X is a versatile USV constructed from high-density polyethylene, designed to endure harsh marine environments. With a customizable back deck capable of carrying over a ton of payload, it can conduct long-duration missions lasting up to 25 days without the need for refueling.

This vessel features two actuated moonpools and two fixed-sensor positions, along with a railing system for easy attachment of custom payloads, including ROV and AUV LARS, generators, winches, and more.

SeaSight

comprehensive situational awareness and collision prevention system for USVs

The SeaSight system has been developed in collaboration with top academic institutions, utilizing multiple low-light HD cameras, a 360-degree LiDAR scanner, and various sensors to ensure precise hazard detection and obstacle navigation, even in low visibility conditions.

USV Situational awareness & collision avoidanceThe system effectively identifies any potential obstacles that could compromise the safe operation of the USV, including other vessels, buoys, shorelines, wildlife, and aquatic vegetation.

The SeaSight package includes:

  • dual 180-degree panoramic coverage for comprehensive visibility of the vessel’s environment
  • Sony STARVIS illuminated pixel technology for enhanced visibility in low-light scenarios
  • Optimized real-time streaming of H.265 encoded SRT (Secure Reliable Transport) video
  • Real-time collision avoidance capabilities for the Otter USV
  • Visualization of real-time LiDAR data at the vessel’s control station

SeaCapture

real-time data acquisition software for USV payloads

real-time data acquisition software for USVSeaCapture is an advanced software suite that facilitates real-time logging and processing of data from various USV payloads, including single- and multibeam sonars, LiDAR scanners, navigation systems, and CTD and SVP sensors. It integrates seamlessly with our USV control station, offering a unified interface for survey planning, payload management, and data collection.Mission planning features include automatic line data generation based on swath coverage and automated SVP casts. Sonar data is visualized in real time, enabling monitoring and control of the swath for optimal quality and efficiency.
