SCS’s Parylene coatings deliver exceptional protection against moisture and chemicals, applicable to a wide variety of substrates, including metals, elastomers, resins, plastics, and ceramics.

These coatings, with uniform thicknesses from a few hundred angstroms to several mils, are pinhole-free and ultra-thin, ensuring minimal impact on the size and weight of components, making them perfect for systems constrained by size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements.

Corrosion and Chemical Resistance – Parylene acts as a robust barrier against corrosive liquids, gases, and harsh aerospace chemicals, remaining insoluble in all organic solvents up to 150°C.

Dielectric Properties – The continuous thin film coatings produced through the Parylene deposition process exhibit high dielectric strength and low dielectric constants, facilitating the transfer of electrical signals without absorption or loss.

Thermal Resilience – Parylene N, ParyFree®, and Parylene C can endure continuous exposure to air at temperatures of 60, 60, and 80°C respectively for a decade. Parylene HT® has been shown to withstand continuous exposure to air at 350°C, with short-term exposure to 450°C for under 24 hours.

Cryogenic Performance – Unsupported 50.8 μm films of Parylene C can flex 180° six times at -200°C before failure. Steel panels coated with Parylene C and immersed in liquid nitrogen at -196°C have endured impacts exceeding 11.3 Nm.

Optical & UV Stability – Parylenes are optically transparent and provide exceptional UV stability, safeguarding against degradation and discoloration.
