Introduction of the DA26-D Actuator by Volz Servos
Volz Servos GmbH & Co. KG has unveiled its latest innovation, the DA 26-D actuator, designed specifically for applications that require the utmost reliability. This actuator features a dual-channel redundant architecture, ensuring uninterrupted functionality even if one channel experiences a failure. Key components, including electric motors, control systems, interaction electronics, and power supplies, are duplicated to enhance reliability. The position sensor employs a three-channel configuration, enabling a 2 out of 3 voting mechanism. moreover, the actuator is equipped with multiple sensors that monitor critical parameters such as current draw, voltage levels, and temperature. Continuous diagnostics of all essential components are performed by the actuator’s microcontrollers, with health status accessible through a redundant RS485 interface.
According to Phillipp Volz, CEO of Volz Servos, “Our clients have expressed a strong need for a redundant actuator solution to safeguard the assets of their UAVs.” He further emphasized, “The DA26-D actuator offers a sophisticated redundant solution that is currently unmatched in the market.” Mark Juhrig, the Chief Technology Officer, added, “We have attentively considered our customers’ requirements and crafted a solution that can be customized for specific applications.” He also noted, “This actuator can be tailored to accommodate various control and monitoring strategies.”
