Innovative Radar Solutions for the Uncrewed P24 initiative
BAE Systems has integrated Cambridge Pixel’s advanced radar interfacing and processing technology into the Uncrewed P24 initiative, facilitating a secure link between the warship’s Combat Management System and the unmanned P24 Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) sensor systems.
Advanced Radar Control and data Fusion
The project utilizes Cambridge Pixel’s ready-to-use SPx Server and SPx Fusion modules, which are essential for managing the radar systems of the Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV). These tools enable efficient plot extraction, target tracking, and the integration of radar data with Automatic Identification System (AIS) data.
Enhancing Naval Operations
designed and manufactured by BAE Systems, the P24 RIB serves as the standard sea boat for the Royal Navy. the Uncrewed P24 initiative aims to enhance the operational capabilities of the Royal Navy’s vessels while minimizing the risk to personnel.
Next-Generation USV Development
In collaboration with Igence Software Ltd, BAE Systems is also leveraging Cambridge Pixel’s SPx Development Toolkit and Library to create a state-of-the-art lightweight control and oversight system for USVs. This initiative seeks to ensure a user-amiable experience that complies with Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) standards, while also offering the necessary features for USVs to present radar imagery and integrated track data across various Electronic Navigational Chart formats.
