Revolutionizing UAVs: Low-SWaP Synthetic Aperture Radar Systems Unleashed!

IMSAR's systems complement EO/IR and EW payloads and provide smaller UAVs with advanced geospatial intelligence capabilities typically reserved for use on much larger platforms

IMSAR stands at the forefront of developing low-SWaP synthetic aperture radar systems, specifically designed for integration with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones.

As a partner in the UST supply chain, we present their innovative solutions and capabilities through the IMSAR UST supplier profile, crafted collaboratively by our team and the company.

The Gold profile highlights IMSAR’s compact and lightweight radar systems, which enhance EO/IR and electronic warfare (EW) payloads, delivering advanced geospatial intelligence typically associated with larger platforms, operational in all weather conditions, both day and night.

Engineered for Group 1 and 2 UAS, the NSP-2 is an ultra-lightweight multi-mode SAR/GMTI payload that delivers actionable intelligence in both terrestrial and maritime settings. It is indeed available in MCD-only or MCD & CCD configurations.

With minimal requirements of just power and Ethernet, the user-amiable NSP-2 can be managed through IMSAR’s intuitive Lisa 3D Command and Control (C2) and Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) software. Additionally, a Radar Control API is provided for seamless integration with third-party and custom software solutions.

The NSP-2 can connect to a Ground Processing Server via a datalink for real-time data analysis, or it can store radar data onboard for post-mission evaluation.

The NSP-3 is an all-weather multi-mode SAR tailored for both land and maritime operations, effective during the day and at night.

This low-SWaP system is offered in a Mod-Payload configuration, consisting of two pods: one housing the antenna subsystem and the other containing the radar and processing electronics. This design facilitates easy integration, allowing the antenna pod to be mounted externally while the electronics reside within the fuselage, or customized to fit various mounting arrangements.

The NSP-5 is a low SWaP multimode SAR/MTI radar system designed to capture real-time actionable intelligence when deployed with tactical UAVs in both land and maritime environments.Encased in a robust weatherproof pod,the system can be installed using a swift-connect rail with blind mate connections,a strongback rail,or even as a quick attach/release using MIL-Spec 14” lug mounts.

The NSP-7 is an extended-range multi-mode SAR designed for larger UAVs, capable of imaging targets up to 55 km away with a resolution of 1 meter.it offers high-performance intelligence-gathering capabilities, operational day or night, under any weather conditions.

The rugged weatherproof pod of the NSP-7 requires only power, Ethernet, and a GPS antenna connection, and can be mounted using MIL-Spec 14” lug mounts or an adapter plate on the pod’s strongback rail. IMSAR also provides custom integration solutions tailored to specific UAVs.

PSAR is a low-SWaP SAR designed to equip HALE (high-altitude long endurance) UAVs,HAPS (high-altitude pseudo-satellites),unmanned balloons, and other stratospheric platforms that previously lacked radar sensor capabilities.

Utilizing IMSAR’s military-proven NanoSAR technology, this innovative system features a low-loss, additive-manufactured aluminum antenna that serves as both a structural and thermal component, as well as for transmitting and receiving radar signals, optimizing space and weight. The unit can connect to a Ground Processing Server via a datalink for real-time data processing.

PSAR can be operated through the user-friendly Lisa 3D Command and Control (C2) and Processing, Exploitation, and Dissemination (PED) software. A Radar Control API is also available for straightforward integration with third-party and custom software solutions.

Lisa 3D is a comprehensive software suite that facilitates intuitive mission planning and data management for multiple sensors. It enables operators to conduct real-time data analysis from radars, EO/IR payloads, vessel AIS, and various other sources, generating actionable intelligence for enhanced decision-making.

Drone operators can develop detailed data collection strategies for multiple sensors and modes, which can then be translated into flight plans.Lisa 3D offers real-time sensor tracking and flight characteristic monitoring, allowing mission plans and collection modes to be adjusted dynamically during operations.

Lisa 3D supports a broad array of file types for import and export, making it easy to view, annotate, and mark data products from various sensors.
