Persistent Systems has revealed that general dynamics Land Systems has opted to incorporate its Multi-Utility Tactical Transport (MUTT) unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) into the Persistent Wave Relay Ecosystem.
The Wave Relay ecosystem comprises a network of companies that have integrated Wave Relay’s Mobile ad Hoc Network (MANET) radios into their offerings. The MUTT platform is designed to function harmoniously with all other MANET-enabled devices within the ecosystem, allowing military personnel to connect with every system and sensor available on the network.
The MUTT serves as an autonomous robotic follower vehicle, adaptable with either tracks or wheels, and is engineered to transport substantial loads for smaller military units. Persistent’s MANET technology will be integrated through the MPU5 smart radio, acting as a vital data link for the vehicle’s command and control, payload management, and high-definition video transmission.
“we are honored to be chosen as the dialog and data link solution for General Dynamics Land Systems,” stated Nick Naioti, Vice President of Business Advancement at Persistent. “The communication link for UGVs is essential for the warfighter, and the MPU5 will equip general Dynamics Land Systems with the necessary range, throughput, and scalability for dependable command and control and future sensor integrations.”
“We have full confidence in the MPU5’s capability to enhance our products and fulfill the requirements of warfighters in various operational settings,” remarked phil Cory, Director of Robotics at General Dynamics Land Systems. “Integrating Wave Relay MANET technology into our systems ensures that end users have the reliable connectivity thay require, regardless of the conditions they face.”
