Red Cat Holdings Secures Major Contract for Edge 130 Blue Drones
Red Cat Holdings has successfully obtained contracts worth $1.6 million for the Edge 130 Blue drones, a military-grade tricopter approved under the Blue UAS program, intended for the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

This contract was facilitated through Darley, a prominent supplier of technology and equipment for first responders and military operations, and was organized for procurement by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) on behalf of CBP.
Acquisition of FlightWave and ItS Impact
In September 2024, Red Cat acquired FlightWave, a company specializing in vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drones, sensors, and software solutions.This acquisition integrates FlightWave’s flagship product, the Edge 130 Blue, into Red Cat’s portfolio of cost-effective, portable unmanned reconnaissance and precision strike systems. The Edge 130 Blue’s compact size, lightweight design, and vertical take-off capabilities make it particularly suitable for maritime and coastal operations. Additionally, FlightWave’s recent TACFI award will expedite further advancements to the Edge 130 Blue.

Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing partnership with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection,the largest federal law enforcement agency,wich currently utilizes Red Cat’s Teal 2 drones for enhanced situational awareness and aerial reconnaissance.
He stated,“By following our established strategy from the acquisition and expansion of our flagship Teal drones,we are strategically positioned to ramp up production and deliver the Edge 130 Blue to our existing clients,including CBP,and also other security and defense organizations globally.”
