PDW has joined forces with Doodle Labs to incorporate the cutting-edge Helix Mesh Rider Radio into PDW’s premier C100 sUAS platform.
This partnership is designed to enhance the functionality and capabilities of the C100 sUAS, particularly in environments challenged by Electronic Warfare (EW) and near-peer adversaries.
The PDW C100 platform stands out as a top-tier sUAS specifically engineered for the Department of Defence (DoD). It empowers individual soldiers to deploy features that were once exclusive to larger fixed-wing systems.
Constructed on a modular open architecture, the C100 allows for the effortless integration of new hardware and capabilities. It boasts a diverse array of advanced mission functionalities, including target acquisition, identification, signals intelligence, direct action, and payload delivery. Compact enough to fit into a rucksack, it supports numerous integrations with leading-edge sensors, payloads, and innovative technologies.
Doodle Labs, a frontrunner in advanced data-link technology, is supplying its Helix mesh Rider radio for the PDW C100 platform. This radio was developed with support from the US DoD’s Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and adheres to the standards of DIU’s Blue UAS program.
The Helix Mesh Rider Radio utilizes proprietary multi-band technology, enabling it to operate across a spectrum of licensed radio frequencies commonly utilized by US DoD entities, ranging from M1 to M6.Its compact OEM design is exceptionally low-SWaP and features FIPS 140-3-certified encryption, both essential for tactical military operations.
Ryan Gury, CEO of PDW, remarked: “Doodle Labs has created a next-generation wireless system that is dependable, robust, and straightforward to integrate. With long-range, high-bandwidth data links and advanced capabilities such as dynamic frequency shifting and multi-hop relay, Doodle Labs’ system guarantees reliable connectivity even in the most demanding environments.”
“PDW is developing some of the most adaptable tactical UAS platforms available, so we recognized that our datalink component had to meet the rigorous challenges that users will face with the C100,” stated Ashish Parikh, VP of Business Development at Doodle Labs. “When we say our Helix Mesh Rider Radio is ‘engineered for global deployment,’ we envision the very missions where the C100 excels. This platform is capable of handling it all.”
