V-BAT VTOL UAV: Revolutionizing Flight with Mobile Ad Hoc Network Technology

Persistent Systems has announce that it has entered into a five-year partnership with MartinUAV, who will incorporate Persistent’s Wave

Persistent Systems has announced a strategic five-year collaboration with MartinUAV, aimed at integrating Persistent’s Wave Relay Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) technology into the V-BAT, a compact vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).

“We are honored to be chosen from a wide array of commercial datalink options,” stated Louis Sutherland, Vice President of Business Development at Persistent Systems. “This partnership solidifies our Wave Relay MANET products as the exclusive interaction solution for martinuav’s UAV offerings.”

Within the Wave Relay Ecosystem, martinuav’s systems can effortlessly connect with any UAVs, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), sensors, and cameras that are Wave Relay-enabled. Users of Persistent’s MPU5 handheld MANET radio will have the capability to interact with the V-BAT and other unmanned systems within the network.

“The military demands a compact footprint for both takeoff and landing, while also requiring increased payload capacity and extended range,” remarked Phil Jones, Chief Operating Officer of MartinUAV. “By utilizing the V-BAT VTOL alongside the MPU5 and Wave Relay MANET,we can fulfill all these critical needs.”

Persistent’s Embedded Module is incorporated into the MartinUAV V-BAT VTOL system, enabling operators to swiftly switch between various RF modules—L-Band, S-Band, C-Band, and BAS-Band—to accommodate diverse multi-band RF mission requirements.

“Our goal at Persistent is to provide tactical operators with a robust network. As MartinUAV integrates Wave Relay MANET technology into the V-BAT,dismounted users will benefit from an airborne network relay, enhancing both the V-BAT’s range and overall network performance,” Sutherland added.
