Acecore Technologies has unveiled the Zoe Zetona, a cutting-edge UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) tailored for commercial uses such as inspections, surveying, and data acquisition. This innovative platform builds upon the established Acecore Zoe, specifically fine-tuned to accommodate a select range of high-performance sensors, including the 60-megapixel Sony A7r IV mirrorless camera.
The Zoe Zetona is equipped wiht a distinctive 2-axis Gremsy gimbal that stabilizes the front-mounted camera, effectively eliminating image vibrations. This design allows operators to position payloads at the front of the drone rather than in a traditional underslung manner, enabling the gimbal to tilt from 90 degrees upward to 90 degrees downward without any obstruction from the drone’s frame.
This new multirotor drone also features a proprietary coaxial UAV motor, which can be upgraded to a fully redundant propulsion system, enhancing the standard quadcopter setup. The coaxial Acecore motor is designed to fit seamlessly within the Zetona’s original housing, ensuring the system remains portable and easy to deploy.
The Zoe Zetona is currently available with a fully integrated Sony A7r IV camera, with additional payload options expected to be introduced soon.
Jorrit Linders, the founder and CEO of Acecore, stated: “One of the primary technical hurdles we encountered was enabling the secondary camera operator to control the drone’s yaw movement for adjusting the live camera feed during asset inspections. Ultimately, we succeeded in this while ensuring that the pilot retains overriding control over the drone’s movements to maintain safe operations.”
“By relocating the payload to the front of the UAV, we had to rearrange many components within the drone to ensure that this new configuration is well-balanced and capable of withstanding the diverse weather conditions our clients encounter.”
