Teledyne Gavia AUV Expands Capabilities for Advanced Subsea Surveys

SEA360 enhances its subsea survey capabilities with a Teledyne Gavia AUV, advancing autonomous underwater operations across Europe for inspection, survey, and environmental missions

Teledyne Gavia AUV Expands Capabilities for Advanced Subsea Surveys

Teledyne Marine has delivered a Gavia Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) to SEA360, a subsidiary of the Sea Vorian group based in Caudan, France.

This strategic acquisition marks a significant enhancement of SEA360’s capabilities in subsea exploration and data services across Europe.

With the addition of the Teledyne Gavia AUV to its fleet, SEA360 is set to offer high-resolution geophysical surveys, precision cable and subsea infrastructure inspections, and comprehensive environmental assessments. The platform supports a wide range of mission profiles, reinforcing SEA360’s ambition to become a key European player in autonomous underwater data collection and analysis.

The Gavia AUV is configured with a suite of cutting-edge technologies, including the EdgeTech 2205 sonar system with bathymetric and gap-fill modules, the EXail PHINS C3 Inertial Navigation System (INS), and USBL positioning capabilities. These tools empower SEA360 to conduct highly accurate underwater surveys and monitoring operations at depths reaching 1,000 meters.

Valentin Hann, Senior Director of Sales – Marine Vehicles, EMEA, said, “We are very excited to add one of our Gavia AUVs to the SEA360 fleet. Not only will this investment add to SEA360 ’s operational capacity, but it will also allow them to expand their geophysical surveying and infrastructure inspection services to meet the growing needs of the underwater commercial market.”

Simon Ichstchenko, Marine Service Manager, added, “This acquisition of the GAVIA marks a significant step forward in enhancing our operational capabilities. With its cutting-edge technology and unparalleled efficiency, the GAVIA will enable us to conduct maritime missions with greater precision, safety, and sustainability. We are proud to integrate such an innovative solution into our fleet, reaffirming our commitment to excellence and innovation in maritime operations.”

This investment supports Sea Vorian’s broader vision to establish SEA360 as a leader in commercial undersea surveying by deploying advanced autonomous systems. The integration of the Gavia AUV reflects a continued commitment to innovation in unmanned maritime operations, helping drive progress in ocean technology across the region.
