SBG Systems Unveils Exciting New INS Firmware Update!

SBG Systems has released a major firmware update for all its high-performance Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), including Ekinox, Apogee

SBG Systems has unveiled a critically important firmware upgrade for its advanced Inertial Navigation Systems (INS), wich includes the Ekinox, Apogee, Navsight, and Quanta sensors. The latest version, 4.0, introduces a host of new functionalities and greatly enhances the overall experience for both system integrators and survey professionals.

The firmware update brings the following improvements:

  • Refined Heading capabilities in Single Antenna mode, facilitating smoother UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) survey operations.
  • Streamlined GNSS antenna Auto Lever Arm Calibration, enabling faster and simpler setups—crucial for hydrographers utilizing various vessels.
  • New PTP and NTP functionalities for precise time synchronization, removing the necessity for an external timing device.
  • Built-in NTRIP client for simplified access to NRTK/VRS correction services.
  • Recorded RTCM raw stream to facilitate post-processing in Qinertia with NRTK/VRS data.
  • Introduction of a user access rights management system to define specific roles for users.
  • Two additional serial outputs on Navsight and Quanta for enhanced survey configurations.
  • REST API now accessible for advanced users and system integrators.
