EMCORE, a prominent autonomous provider of inertial navigation solutions for the aerospace and defense sectors, is set to deliver a presentation titled “Exploring the Details: Transitioning from Tactical to Premium Navigation-Grade MEMS Accelerometers at EMCORE” during the Joint Navigation Conference (JNC) on Monday, june 3 at 4:45 p.m., Session E4: Inertial Navigation Technologies 2, in Ballroom D at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center.
Under the guidance of Chief Scientist Sergey Zotov, Ph.D., this year’s session will highlight EMCORE’s innovative strategies to minimize accelerometer noise (VRW) to an impressive 0.1 µg/√Hz, ensuring high-end navigation-grade performance even under varying temperature conditions.
The presentation will not only cover the methodologies employed by EMCORE to achieve superior navigation-grade performance but will also showcase instances of residual impairments in accelerometers that were previously masked by the original noise floor, along with the solutions EMCORE has implemented to address thes challenges.
For over three decades, EMCORE has positioned itself as a frontrunner in the development of quartz MEMS-based inertial sensors and IMUs, celebrated for their dependability and efficiency across diverse environmental conditions.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that EMCORE has been invited to share insights from its internal research, which clearly illustrates the significant benefits of quartz in the design and manufacturing of navigation-grade accelerometers compared to alternative materials.
Attendees at the JNC will have the opportunity to hear Sergey Zotov discuss the intricacies of this journey and discover how EMCORE’s innovations in crystal quartz MEMS accelerometers are influencing the future of navigation technology.
During the JNC, EMCORE will also present its extensive range of navigation and inertial sensing products and will be available for discussions at booth #315 on June 4-5. Key highlights will include:
- The TAC-450 series of photonic FOGs and IMUs
- The TACNAV 3D inertial navigation system for reliable PNT
- The new TAC-440 MEMS IMU, recognized as the world’s smallest 1°/hour IMU
“We consistently showcase that our products deliver enhanced performance with reduced size, weight, and power consumption compared to competing options, and we are eager to unveil our latest innovations at this year’s JNC,” stated Matthew Vargas, Interim CEO of EMCORE.
“We invite deeper collaboration with technical teams globally to explore how our existing and upcoming products can rapidly enhance guidance, navigation, and control solutions.”
