TDK Boosts MEMS Inertial Sensor Lineup with the Cutting-Edge Tronics AXO315®T0 Accelerometer!

TDK introduces the Tronics AXO315®T0, a high-temperature MEMS accelerometer engineered for precise, reliable MWD performance in extreme energy sector environments

Tronics Microsystems, a subsidiary of TDK Group specializing in inertial MEMS sensor technologies, has introduced the Tronics AXO315®T0.

TDK Expands MEMS Inertial Sensor Portfolio with Tronics AXO315®T0 Accelerometer

### Advanced MEMS Technology for Extreme Conditions

The tronics AXO315T0 is a high-performance MEMS accelerometer designed to operate in high-temperature environments, featuring a ±14 g input range and a digital interface. This device is particularly suited for measurement while drilling (MWD) applications within the energy sector, providing a reliable solution for accurate directional drilling in challenging conditions.

### Unmatched precision and Reliability

utilizing TDK’s innovative closed-loop architecture, the AXO315T0 delivers extraordinary vibration rectification and shock resistance. It boasts a bias residual error of just 0.8 mg across a temperature spectrum of -30 °C to +150 °C, ensuring continuous and precise inclination measurements for drilling tools subjected to extreme heat.

### Rigorous Testing for Enhanced Durability

To meet the demanding reliability standards essential for optimizing complex drilling operations in harsh environments,TDK has subjected the AXO315T0 to extensive reliability assessments. these tests include over 1000 hours of powered life testing at +165 °C, temperature cycling from -55 °C to +165 °C, and high-temperature vibration evaluations (20 g RMS random vibration alongside 50 g sine sweep).

### A New era for MWD Tools

With a typical bias drift of under 1 mg without the need for recalibration after 1000 hours at elevated temperatures, the AXO315T0 presents a digital, low-SWaP choice to customary quartz accelerometers. This advancement paves the way for a new generation of MWD tools capable of sustained operation in high-temperature settings without sacrificing performance.

### Availability and Future developments

The AXO315T0 sensors and evaluation boards are currently available for sampling and customer assessments. TDK is also set to broaden its MEMS offerings for the energy sector with the introduction of a new accelerometer designed to withstand operating temperatures of up to +175 °C.
