A leading company in the Fortune Global 500,specializing in Light Electric Vehicles (LEVs),has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LOI) with Amprius Technologies to create a high-energy SiCore™ cylindrical cell tailored for LEV applications.

This LOI signifies the mutual intent of both organizations to establish a commercial supply agreement that will extend over the next five years.
As part of this agreement, amprius is set to design and supply high-energy density cylindrical cells utilizing its innovative SiCore anode technology, which boasts a 25% enhancement in capacity compared to the prevailing industry benchmarks.
This initiative is poised to substantially elevate energy capacity, representing a pivotal achievement for both entities as they work to finalize the technical specifications.
Amprius has already secured an annual production capacity of 125 million SiCore cylindrical cells through prior contract manufacturing collaborations. With additional capacity expected to come online in 2025, this LOI could lead to battery production orders surpassing 2GWh throughout the duration of the proposed contract.
Dr. Kang Sun, CEO of Amprius Technologies, remarked, “This collaboration underscores Amprius’ leading position in battery performance and its capability to enhance product range and efficiency across multiple sectors. As we continue to innovate within the electric mobility landscape, we are making significant strides in the light electric vehicle market. We are thrilled to welcome another Fortune Global 500 company to our esteemed roster of clients who rely on Amprius for their energy solutions. The batteries developed for this application will leverage our groundbreaking SiCore cell chemistry and cylindrical design.”
The initial batch of SiCore cylindrical cells tailored for this application is scheduled to be dispatched to the customer within this year.
