SwissDrones Secures significant Investment to Propel Growth

SwissDrones has successfully acquired a considerable seven-figure investment, spearheaded by DiamondStream Partners, a venture capital firm specializing in aviation and aerospace, alongside contributions from current investors.

Funding Utilization and Strategic Goals

The newly acquired funds will be directed towards accelerating the advancement of innovative products and enhancing global market outreach.

“We are thrilled to welcome DiamondStream Partners as a new stakeholder,” expressed Ulrich Amberg, CEO of SwissDrones. “Our team is eager to tap into their extensive entrepreneurial and operational expertise in the aviation sector as we aim to revolutionize aerial intelligence collection for critical applications globally.”

Innovative Aerial Solutions

SwissDrones aims to replace customary crewed helicopters with a safer and more economical aerial intelligence alternative. Their technology is applicable in various fields, including infrastructure assessments, surveillance, and public safety operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

Notably,SwissDrones’ aircraft produce up to 95% less CO2 compared to crewed helicopters, considerably lowering operational costs while ensuring the safety of flight crews. Thes systems can accommodate advanced sensor payloads weighing up to 40 kg (88 lbs) and are capable of executing long-duration missions both day and night.

Industry Recognition and Future Prospects

“We view SwissDrones as pioneers in introducing next-generation aviation technology for essential applications in infrastructure inspection, aerial surveillance, and public safety,” stated David Spurlock, Managing Director of DiamondStream Partners. “The aircraft’s payload capacity and range, combined with a commitment to customer service, position them to disrupt the market and drive growth in these sectors. We are eager to support the company as it solidifies its leadership in this domain and delivers significant value across the industry.”

Regulatory Collaboration and achievements

To enhance its operational capabilities and address customer needs, SwissDrones is actively working with civil aviation authorities around the globe to obtain necessary regulatory approvals and flight authorizations, facilitating mission-specific operations.

SwissDrones is among the first entities to secure a European drone operator license, specifically the Light UAS Operator Certificate (LUC) from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This certification enables SwissDrones to self-authorize its aircraft operations across EASA member countries, including BVLOS missions, within the certificate’s parameters. It represents the highest level of authorization available under current European drone regulations.

Additionally, the SwissDrones SDO 50 uncrewed helicopter platform has been granted a special Airworthiness Certificate (SAC-EC) by the FAA in the United States. Further regulatory approvals are anticipated in the upcoming months.
