Field Group and Alva Industries have announced a partnership that will increase safety and efficiency for Field’s UAV infrastructure inspection services in the United States

Innovative UAV Propulsion System Unveiled in the United States

Field Group (Field) has partnered with Alva Industries (Alva) to enhance the safety and efficiency of UAV infrastructure inspection services across the U.S.

As part of this collaboration, Field has chosen Alva Industries as the exclusive provider of the ALTUS X60 electric propulsion system for its larger UAV platforms. An initial ample order has been placed for these systems, which will be integrated into both Field’s UAV fleet and those of its clients, including Spright, a partner based in the U.S.

Commitment to Innovation and Safety

“For nearly two years, Alva and Field have worked together to create reliable, safe, and cost-effective UAV platforms and propulsion systems. Field is committed to producing Alva-powered UAVs in the coming years, aiming to lead innovation in the U.S. infrastructure inspection industry and provide top-tier UAV service capabilities,” stated Jimmy Bostrøm, Executive vice President of Field for the USA and Emerging Markets.

“The integration of Alva’s leading propulsion systems into our UAV fleets will significantly enhance safety and operational efficiency, thanks to their outstanding performance, reliability, and longevity.This is excellent news for our clients and the broader industry. With Alva managing their production capabilities entirely,we are confident in their role as our sole supplier for these essential components. We eagerly anticipate expanding our commercial operations with Alva-powered UAV platforms,” added Mr. Bostrøm.

Advanced Engineering for Enhanced Performance

Alva has developed multiple iterations of its motor design to meet the rigorous safety and reliability standards set by Field for the propulsion system. A novel mechanical interface has also been created to ensure optimal integration between the UAV and the propulsion system, providing maximum mechanical integrity over time and enabling safe operation in all weather conditions. Additionally, the companies have co-designed an LED-based lighting unit as an accessory for the propulsion systems, ensuring safe flights and compliance with existing and future regulations.
