Edge Autonomy to Expand Production

Edge Autonomy to Expand Production

Edge Autonomy, a leader in unmanned and autonomous technology, is establishing a new manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Alabama to support increasing demand for its products. This expansion will increase the company’s production capacity, facilitate support to local customers, and contribute to the technological and economic growth of northern Alabama.

The Edge Autonomy Huntsville office opens in July 2023, marking the company’s fifth location nationwide. The new office will be home to technical, production, and administrative personnel, drawing from a local job market that is rich in diverse and talented candidates.

“We are excited to extend our footprint into Huntsville,” said John Purvis, CEO of Edge Autonomy. “Huntsville is the home of key Edge Autonomy customers, and northern Alabama’s fast-growing tech sector makes it one of the best locations to attract and retain the highly skilled manufacturing, technical, and engineering employees who will contribute to our mission.”

“Alabama is a priority market for Edge Autonomy,” said Purvis. “Redstone Arsenal is a major customer and thought leader in the uncrewed aircraft space, and we are excited to bring significant UAV production to the area. Customer support and responsiveness to warfighter requirements are important to us. We want to build aircraft in close proximity to our customers in order to respond rapidly and effectively to emerging requirements.”

“Edge Autonomy’s new Huntsville location is great for all parties involved,” said Rep. Dale Strong, of Alabama’s 5th congressional district. “They are doing crucial work to support the warfighter with the most innovative capabilities. Edge Autonomy’s expansion will also benefit our local economy, bringing new jobs, ideas, and dollars to North Alabama. The company and I share the same belief, that innovation – no matter how small – creates a better world and a better Alabama!”
