Meller Optics, Inc. has unveiled a new line of custom-engineered sapphire windows designed specifically for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). These windows are built too endure exposure to various chemicals, gases, particulates, and pollutants that could potentially harm sensitive optical systems.
The Meller Sapphire Windows are engineered to deliver exceptional optical clarity and possess a Mohs hardness rating of 9, making them ideal for protecting drone vision systems in extreme conditions. These windows can be custom-made in diameters ranging from 1/4 inch to 10 inches and thicknesses from 0.5 mm to 1 inch, with optional anti-reflective coatings available.
Manufactured with precision, Meller Sapphire Windows maintain a flatness tolerance of 0.5 fringes of HeNe and parallelism ranging from 20 to 2 arc seconds. They feature surface finishes that vary from 60-40 to 40-20 scratch-dig. These windows are capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1,000°C and pressures reaching 10,000 psi, depending on their specific configuration.Additionally, Meller offers a variety of sapphire optical components, including domes and lenses with focal lengths extending from 3/4 inch to over 1,000 mm.
