Persistent Systems Boosts U.S. Army’s 10X Initiative with Advanced MANET Solutions
Persistent Systems, a leader in mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) technology, has been appointed by the national Advanced Mobility Consortium (NAMC) to considerably contribute to the U.S. Army’s 10X Dismounted Infantry Platoon initiative.
Chosen as one of eight key organizations to assist the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) Task Request 22, Persistent Systems will deliver its innovative networking solutions aimed at improving the operational efficiency of infantry platoons. this initiative will culminate in a technology showcase at Fort Moore, Georgia, scheduled for september 2024.
Transforming Infantry Operations with Cutting-edge Technology
The 10X initiative, spearheaded by NAMC, aims to enhance the operational capabilities of Army infantry platoons by integrating unmanned systems and state-of-the-art technologies. In prior evaluations, Persistent Systems’ Wave Relay® MANET established a strong, data-agnostic communication framework, facilitating uninterrupted command and control. Furthermore, the company’s Cloud Relay™ capability for beyond-line-of-sight operations allowed for remote software management of various third-party platforms.
Jeffrey Washington, Director of Business Advancement for U.S. Army/UGVs at Persistent Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are thrilled to support the 10X initiative once more. Our selection by the GVSC’s Dismounted Robotic Systems branch reflects their confidence in our communication solutions and the support we provided during the previous 10X phase, which concluded with a exhibition in September 2022.”
Addressing Complex Challenges in Urban Environments
The upcoming phase presents even more meaningful challenges, as it will simulate an urban habitat that demands refined networking solutions. Persistent Systems’ technology will play a crucial role in linking a diverse range of unmanned platforms, ensuring real-time data exchange across the battlefield, and aligning with the Army’s vision for highly efficient, technology-driven platoon operations.
Washington further noted, “Our MANET technology is self-forming, self-healing, and highly scalable. We have collaborated with numerous platform partners and have previously expanded our network to connect hundreds of nodes.”
