Robosys Automation Launches the Pioneer: A Cutting-Edge Autonomous Trials Vessel
Robosys Automation has unveiled the Pioneer, a state-of-the-art autonomous trials vessel designed to facilitate the testing and integration of client software and hardware with the VOYAGER AI platform.
Specifications and Features of the Pioneer
The Pioneer is a 6.75-meter SeaPro Centre Console 222, sourced from Kirby Marine US, and is powered by a Suzuki DF 250 APX outboard motor. This vessel was selected for its robust construction and adaptability, making it ideal for various testing scenarios. it is equipped with a Dometic Seastar steering system and a Furuno radar, which were seamlessly integrated with Robosys’ VOYAGER AI software within a matter of days, marking the Pioneer as SeaPro’s inaugural fully autonomous vessel.
VOYAGER AI: A Versatile Solution for Maritime Autonomy
The VOYAGER AI platform is engineered to accommodate both newly constructed and retrofitted vessels, ranging from 2 to 320 meters in length. This adaptable software is designed to work with third-party systems for steering, propulsion, and motor control, ensuring a smooth integration process.
Enhanced Safety and Functionality
Robosys enhances the capabilities of VOYAGER AI with several advanced features, including a Collision Avoidance Decision Aid (CADA) that complies with COLREGS regulations, promoting safer operations for both crewed and minimally crewed vessels. Additional functionalities encompass remote management of steering, propulsion, and engine systems, as well as alarm monitoring and switch/relay management through the Voyager Platform Management system.
Transforming Vessels into Autonomous Unmanned Surface vessels (USVs)
With VOYAGER AI, any motorized vessel can be converted into an autonomous USV, enabling independent navigation, collision avoidance, anti-grounding features, and dynamic route optimization. This technology meets the International Maritime OrganizationS (IMO) Degree 4 Maritime Autonomy standards.
Operational Scope and Future Prospects
Headquartered in Rhode Island, the Pioneer will primarily support Robosys’ operations in the United States while also being utilized for trials and integration tests across the company’s facilities in the UK, Canada, and India.
Aditya Nawab, CEO and Founder of Robosys, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to have launched our new autonomous trials vessel, which will not only showcase our capabilities but also rigorously test our systems for our clients.”
