Enhanced Command & Control for UAVs with Iridium Certus Satellite Dialog Solutions

SKYTRAC stands at the forefront of satellite communication technology, offering Iridium Certus-based solutions that provide reliable, low-latency command and control (C2) for UAVs, RPAS, and UAM platforms, even in the most challenging conditions.

Utilizing Iridium’s complete low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network, SKYTRAC ensures global connectivity with data speeds reaching up to 704 Kbps.

These SATCOM terminals are crafted for a wide array of critical missions, including cargo transport, aerial mapping, governmental surveillance, and scientific exploration, guaranteeing consistent control and data flow for uncrewed systems operating beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS).

With SKYTRAC’s C2 solutions, operators can maintain continuous broadband and midband L-band communications with uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) across the globe. The Iridium certus system, designed for aviation, employs a pole-to-pole LEO network that remains unaffected by weather conditions or terrestrial barriers, ensuring reliable performance and real-time responsiveness with latency below 2 milliseconds on the Iridium NEXT network.

Devices such as SKYTRAC’s IMS, DLS-100, and DLS-140 are tailored to meet specific size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements, allowing users to select between broadband and midband L-band options for optimal operational efficiency.

This compact, dual-mode communication terminal integrates both Iridium Certus 100 satellite and 3G/4G LTE cellular connectivity. With satellite data speeds of up to 88 Kbps, the DLS-140 supports IP-based voice and data, Wi-Fi, and advanced functionalities such as least-cost routing and remote terminal management.Its low SWaP design and ease of integration make it perfect for BVLOS communications and video downlink applications.

DLS-100 UAV Datalink

This robust, IP67-rated unit combines a mid-band Iridium Certus transceiver with a commercial GPS receiver, ensuring dependable command and control, telemetry, and data streaming. With a global reliability rate of 99.9% and support for uplinks at 22 Kbps and downlinks at 88 Kbps, the DLS-100 is optimized for critical UAV missions. It also allows for remote configuration through browser-based tools and APIs for tailored integration.

IMS™ UAV SATCOM

This lightweight and adaptable broadband L-band SATCOM terminal is designed for advanced air mobility and UAV applications. The IMS supports Iridium Certus 200 or 700 services, making it ideal for BVLOS operations, smart routing, and hosting custom onboard applications. With minimal power requirements and comprehensive global coverage, it caters to the diverse demands of next-generation uncrewed aviation.
