Nicomatic has unveiled its rugged VITA 66 optical backplane interconnects, designed for harsh environments, supporting up to 24 optical channels per connector, and offering versions integrated with the PRIZM® MT ferrule for expanded beam technology

Nicomatic has unveiled its robust VITA 66 optical backplane interconnects, a benchmark for optical backplane connections within the VPX (VITA 46) framework.

Nicomatic Introduces Durable Optical Backplane Interconnects

This connector is engineered for durability and dependability, capable of enduring the rigors of extreme environments.

It delivers exceptional performance with high-speed data transmission, and its scalability accommodates a diverse array of optical connector types and configurations.

Additionally, it features a high-density design, supporting up to 24 optical channels per connector, and can expand to 48 channels with dual MT ferrules.

The VITA 66 standard aligns seamlessly with the VPX (VITA 65) standard, ensuring effortless integration with other VPX components. Nicomatic provides extensive support services for its VITA 66 optical backplane interconnects, including design consultation, manufacturing, and testing.

Innovative Expanded Beam Technology

The 66.1 and 66.4 models of the connector incorporate the PRIZM® MT ferrule from US Conec, which utilizes advanced expanded beam technology.

Each ferrule end is equipped with a lens. The initial lens expands the optical signal, which is then refocused by a second lens.
