EIZO Rugged Solutions Unveils Cutting-Edge 3U VPX SBC Powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin
EIZO Rugged Solutions has introduced a state-of-the-art 3U VPX single board computer (SBC) that leverages the capabilities of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin system-on-module (SoM). The new Condor AGX-IOX is equipped with an NVIDIA Ampere GPU alongside an Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU,specifically engineered for demanding C5ISR applications that necessitate edge computing and artificial intelligence functionalities.
Enhanced Performance and Efficiency
This innovative module boasts 64GB of LPDDR5 system memory, facilitating an extraordinary memory bandwidth of up to 205 GB/s. This bandwidth is shared among the Arm cortex CPU, NVIDIA Ampere GPU, and Accelerator Engines, providing a compact solution that optimizes Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) while enhancing performance per watt. The Condor AGX-IOX operates as a single-slot solution with a maximum power consumption of 60 watts, substantially boosting the speed and efficiency of data processing in multi-sensor environments. This capability enables real-time detection and analysis of incoming signals and data streams.
Advanced Storage and Networking Features
The Condor AGX-IOX 3U VPX card is designed with robust storage and networking functionalities, featuring 64GB of eMMC internal storage and 10GbE (Gigabit Ethernet) connectivity. It also supports high-speed I/O options, including USB 3.2, displayport, and RS-232 Serial interfaces. Additionally, the card is equipped with dedicated HEVC (H.265)/AVC (H.264) NVENC and NVDEC engines, capable of supporting encoding resolutions up to 4K-UHD. Its modular design adheres to both VITA 46/65 and the Sensor Open System Architecture (SOSA) technical standards, specifically slot profile 14.2.16.
Joining the NVIDIA Jetson Ecosystem
With the launch of this advanced product, EIZO Rugged Solutions has become a part of the NVIDIA Jetson ecosystem, positioning the company to create even more refined 3U VPX solutions tailored for embedded edge computing applications in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other unmanned systems.
Expert Insights
John Payne, Senior Product manager at EIZO Rugged Solutions, expressed enthusiasm about the new release: “The Condor AGX-IOX represents a important enhancement to our High-Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) product lineup, thanks to the integration of the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin 64GB SoM. The unified memory architecture that links the Arm-based CPU cores with the NVIDIA Ampere architecture-based CUDA cores greatly reduces latency, especially when compared to traditional CPU-to-GPU dialog via a PCIe interface.”
