Vantage Robotics has announced a importent enhancement with the complete integration of the ATAK UAS tool into the Vision2 ground control system (GCS), marking a pivotal advancement that empowers military personnel with superior command over not just Vantage drones, but a diverse array of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) in combat scenarios.

Collaborative Development for Enhanced Tactical Operations

Following four years of dedicated partnership with the TAK Product center’s UMS developers, Vantage Robotics has crafted one of the most advanced and mission-ready integrations available today. This integration is meticulously designed to enhance situational awareness, interoperability, and tactical superiority, leading to quicker decision-making and improved operational effectiveness when it counts the most.

Beyond Basic Integration: A Extensive Solution

When inquired about their drones’ compatibility with the android Tactical Awareness Kit (ATAK), Vantage Robotics emphasizes that their offerings extend beyond mere integration. They are at the forefront of supporting military personnel and federal agencies with drones that are seamlessly incorporated into the TAK ecosystem.

Streamlined Operations with Vision2 GCS

the Vision2 controller is equipped with both the core ATAK platform and the UAS Tool plugin, enabling operators to manage the Vantage drone family or any drone compatible with the Vision2 GCS.Furthermore, the Vision2 is enhanced with the SIT(X) plugin, allowing it to function as a node on the institution’s TAK server and facilitating video distribution via RTSP or SRT through a Video Management Server like GvStreamer.

This system allows users to connect to multiple networks at once,such as a microhard digital data link (DDL) for the Vesper or Trace aircraft,while simultaneously maintaining a WiFi connection to the TAK server and the Video Management System (VMS). This capability ensures the delivery of beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) data to a tactical operations center (TOC).

Consolidating Control for Enhanced Efficiency

By integrating all necessary programs directly into the Vision2 GCS, Vantage Robotics alleviates the complications that arise when drone operators must manage multiple devices. This consolidation allows for a more efficient operational experience.

Rather than requiring operators to manage a remote controller in one hand and a separate device for ATAK in the other, the Vision2 GCS comes pre-installed with both the core ATAK platform and the UAS Tool plugin, all on a single device.
