Greensea IQ has appointed Rigel SrL as the exclusive sales representative in Italy for its Bayonet line of Autonomous Underwater Ground Vehicles (AUGVs).
The partnership aims to expand Greensea IQ’s European presence and introduce its surf-zone and nearshore robotics solutions to the Italian market.
Bayonet AUGVs are designed for operations in the surf zone and shallow water. This allows for autonomous seabed mobility for applications including mine countermeasures (MCM), UXO detection, coastal surveys, payload delivery, and amphibious reconnaissance.
The Bayonet systems provide true autonomy, precise navigation, and modular payload integration, building on Greensea IQ’s robust, open architecture platform.
Rigel SrL’s five decades of expertise in electronics, robotics, and automation across Italy’s maritime, defense, and industrial sectors position it as an ideal collaborator in expanding the Bayonet product line.
Emanuele Orlandi, Business Development Director at Rigel Srl, stated, “It’s a privilege to bring Greensea IQ and their groundbreaking Bayonet technology to the Italian market. With Italy’s extensive coastline and increasing focus on maritime security, environmental monitoring, and subsea innovation, there’s a clear need for agile, field-proven solutions like Bayonet. We’re excited to drive forward deployments that raise the bar for safety, reliability, and operational excellence in complex nearshore domains.”
Rob Howard, Chief Growth Officer of Greensea IQ, added, “Rigel SrL has earned a strong reputation as a trusted provider of advanced technologies to government and commercial customers in Italy. We’re proud to partner with a company that shares our commitment to innovation, reliability, and mission success. With Rigel, we’re confident the Bayonet product line will find a strong foothold in one of Europe’s most dynamic maritime regions.”
This agreement reflects Greensea IQ’s efforts to extend its international presence by working with regional partners who have a deep understanding of local operational challenges and opportunities.
