Innovative Lithium-Ion Solutions Unveiled
Vanguard (Briggs & Stratton) is set to showcase its robust lithium-ion battery technology, initially created in partnership with ARGO for the J8 autonomous unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), at the 2021 Hybridization and electrification of NRMM (Non-Road Mobile machinery) Forum. This event will gather over 100 industry professionals focused on advancing the electrification of off-road machinery and related systems.
Powerful and Versatile Battery Solutions
The ARGO battery system offers a flexible power range of 5-20 kWh, making it notably suitable for compact applications like the J8 self-driving robot designed for extreme terrains. This resilient battery pack is engineered to resist dust, moisture, and water, while also enduring significant impacts, shocks, and vibrations. It can be maintained and repaired using a single part number, and comes equipped with built-in diagnostic features that streamline global maintenance requirements.
Comprehensive Battery System Components
The robust battery solution comprises Vanguard’s 48-volt lithium-ion battery pack, an advanced battery management system, and a dedicated battery charger. “these elements function in harmony to provide a fully integrated battery solution,” stated Paul Bramhall, Director of Marketing EMEA – Engines & Power. “It ensures exceptional power, performance, and adaptability.”
Award-Winning Collaboration
The partnership between Vanguard and ARGO on the J8 autonomous UGV earned the prestigious Electrification Newsmaker of the Year Award for its groundbreaking advancement of an electric unmanned ground vehicle utilizing one of the industry’s frist serviceable, scalable battery systems. Additionally, the Vanguard commercial lithium-ion battery pack was honored with the 2020 Editor’s Choice Award by Rental, a well-respected publication catering to rental equipment professionals.
