Revolutionizing Surveillance: The A800 3D Multi-Mode Radar
Blighter Surveillance Systems has integrated Cambridge Pixel’s cutting-edge 3D tracking software into its A800 multi-mode radar system, which excels in detecting aerial, terrestrial, and maritime threats simultaneously. This powerful combination enhances the monitoring of vital infrastructures and combat zones, effectively safeguarding against rapid and small threats, including drones and unmanned surface vessels (USVs).
Advanced Tracking Capabilities with SPx Tracker-3D
The SPx Tracker-3D from Cambridge Pixel serves as a primary radar tracker with Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) capabilities. It features automatic track initiation, processing data from sensors to establish and maintain tracking of targets. This software can manage up to 4,000 targets and allows for the customization of target dynamics and altitudes.By associating new data points with existing tracks, it ensures precise position updates through Kalman filtering, which is crucial for accounting for measurement noise and potential target maneuvers.
Real-Time Terrain Analysis and Visualization
Upon initialization, the SPx Tracker-3D analyzes terrain data to outline the 3D environment around the radar sensor, identifying potential target loss due to geographical features. Operators can utilize a built-in web server and standard web browsers to adjust their viewpoint in real-time, facilitating the inspection of targets of interest while visualizing plots, tracks, terrain, and configuration data.
Enhanced Detection with 3D Plotting
The A800 radar system from Blighter provides three-dimensional plot detections. When paired with Cambridge Pixel’s tracker, the height data allows for effective differentiation between surface and aerial targets. This advancement is especially significant in counter-UAS operations, as it enhances radar sensitivity for improved detection rates without increasing false alarm occurrences.
Industry Insights and Expert Opinions
Mark Radford, co-founder and CTO of Blighter Surveillance Systems, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Our long-standing use of Cambridge Pixel’s SPx Server 2D tracker with our 2D radars has been successful, and we are excited to implement their new 3D tracker with our 3D radar. This integration marks a ample enhancement in capability, especially for multi-mode and counter-UAS applications.”
David Johnson, CEO of Cambridge Pixel, added: “We are thrilled to partner with Blighter Surveillance Systems on this innovative software. our goal is to deliver radar manufacturers and integrators, like Blighter, a sophisticated, adaptable, and robust solution that can reliably track challenging targets in intricate 3D environments.”
