Innovative Partnership for Maritime Autonomy Unveiled at DSEI

Robosys Automation and Landau Marine have announced a groundbreaking partnership at the DSEI event in London, aimed at delivering comprehensive maritime autonomy solutions for both newly constructed and retrofitted naval vessels.

Transforming Naval Operations with Advanced Technology

This collaboration merges the expertise of a prominent UK integrator and service provider,Landau, with Robosys,a leader in AI-driven maritime autonomy software. The goal is to facilitate the rapid transition of vessels to fully autonomous or minimally crewed operations.

Voyager AI: A Comprehensive Autonomy Solution

Robosys Automation’s Voyager AI Vessel represents a holistic autonomy solution, integrating artificial intelligence with decision-making aids to enable fully autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USVs). This technology is versatile, applicable to various tasks such as surveillance, surveying, military operations, and patrolling, and is compatible with different vessel types, propulsion systems, and sensor technologies.

Insights from the Launch Event

During the DSEI launch,Roger Cerrato,Sales Director at Landau, emphasized the importance of this partnership: “Landau is committed to helping clients effectively implement cutting-edge technologies like Robosys Automation’s Voyager AI suite. This collaboration embodies our mission to provide innovative installation and integration solutions that enhance efficiency, economic viability, and environmental sustainability.”

Cerrato further noted, “We are focused on assisting our commercial and defence clients in their pursuit of innovative solutions, such as retrofitting crewed vessels to achieve autonomous capabilities at speeds reaching 45 knots, which supports the net-zero initiative.”

Robosys Automation’s Commitment to Excellence

Nigel Lee, Chief Strategy Officer of Robosys Automation, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Landau Marine. This alliance will deliver a comprehensive solution for clients seeking to integrate Voyager AI into new builds or retrofit existing workboats, leveraging Landau’s remarkable facilities and expertise.”

Advanced Features of Voyager AI

The Voyager AI suite includes robust autonomous capabilities, featuring collision avoidance, anti-grounding measures, smart object detection, and loss of interaction protocols. It is designed to operate effectively across a wide range of naval vessels, including barges, pilot boats, and workboats, especially those measuring between 3 to 24 meters in length. Currently, Voyager AI is deployed on various naval vessels, surveillance crafts, survey ships, and workboats.

Enhancing Vessel Longevity and Efficiency

Lee added,“The implementation of Voyager AI substantially prolongs the operational lifespan of customary vessels through efficient retrofitting. This approach not only enhances safety and cost-effectiveness but also aligns with environmental goals for those wishing to modernize their existing fleets, offering options for crewed, minimally crewed, optionally uncrewed, and fully uncrewed operations based on specific needs.”

Robosys’ Advanced Autonomy Standards

The Voyager AI Vessel solution achieves IMO Degree 4 autonomy, making it particularly suitable for the defense sector, as it can be retrofitted to nearly any vessel or workboat.Robosys Automation’s systems provide remote control capabilities alongside sophisticated autonomous navigation, integrating seamlessly with most vessel systems while offering collision avoidance and monitoring options, thus delivering a reliable and comprehensive maritime AI autonomy solution.
