EMCORE Corporation Secures New Contracts for Space Launch Vehicle Programs
EMCORE Corporation has announced the acquisition of new contracts related to two significant programs for space launch vehicles: the Booster Rate Gyro (BoRG) and the Tri-Axial Inertial Measurement Unit (TAIMU). These agreements stem from EMCORE’s recent purchase of the L3Harris Space and Navigation division.
Details of the Contracts
The BoRG program entails a contract exceeding $12 million, aimed at producing Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) that are essential for stabilizing the booster stage of a multistage launch system. Simultaneously occurring, the TAIMU program focuses on the development of IMUs designed for navigation and flight control of the upper stage in similar launch systems.Should EMCORE successfully demonstrate the necessary capabilities and quality standards, the company anticipates securing additional production contracts for the TAIMU program within the next year.
