This report emphasizes the emergence of dual-use technologies that Booz Allen anticipates will have immediate operational impacts within the next one to three years, particularly in defense and intelligence applications.
Among the highlighted innovations, Non-Kinetic Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) technology stands out, with D-Fend Solutions recognized as a leading innovator in this domain.
The findings stress the urgent need for the Department of defense (DoD) to focus on technologies that can significantly improve mission effectiveness,especially in light of limited defense budgets. Non-Kinetic C-UAS technologies are acknowledged for their potential in this regard. The selection of Emerging Innovators was based on criteria such as technical innovation, leadership experiance, market traction, investor support, foreign influence, and engagement with U.S. government entities.
Cyber Takeover is identified as a pivotal effector technology within the Non-Kinetic Counter-UAS category, crucial for addressing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) UAS systems. Key applications include Base Protection, Mobile Air Defense, and Crowd Safety.
From a tactical perspective, these systems are expected to become smaller and more energy-efficient, enhancing their mobility and operational viability.This trend is exemplified by D-Fend Solutions’ recent launch of EnforceAir2.
