Elistair Secures Major Contract for ORION 2 Tethered UAVs
Elistair has recently entered into a meaningful framework agreement with the DGA (French armament General directorate) to provide its ORION 2 tethered Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs).
Enhancing Surveillance Capabilities
The DGA EM (DGA Missile Test Unit), recognized as a leading center in Europe for missile flight evaluations, has chosen the ORION 2 tethered UAV to bolster its surveillance and observation systems across various test locations.
Meeting Diverse operational Needs
This contract aims to fulfill the operational requirements of the DGA EM’s Landes and Mediterranean sites, as well as the Mediterranean and Aquitaine flight test areas managed by DGA EV (DGA Flight Tests).
Extended Surveillance and Data Collection
During testing phases, which can extend for several hours, the ORION 2 will play a crucial role in securing impact zones and gathering essential imagery for analyzing land, air, and coastal operations. Thes tethered drones will considerably enhance surveillance capabilities, with detection ranges now reaching up to 10 kilometers, even under adverse whether conditions.
Advanced Design for Continuous Operations
Engineered for prolonged flights, the ORION 2 is an automated, clever tethered drone that can operate at altitudes of 100 meters for up to 24 hours. Its tether not only ensures reliable data transmission but also safeguards against potential jamming and interference. the ORION 2 has successfully completed the DGA’s Information Systems Security (ISS) certification tests, affirming its robustness.
A Testament to Elistair’s Innovation
“This contract marks a significant achievement for Elistair, and we are honored by the DGA’s continued trust in our solutions,” stated Elistair CEO Guilhem de Marliave. “The ORION 2 was selected following extensive efforts by our teams to enhance its Information Systems Security, and this success further solidifies its reputation as a leading tactical UAV for perimeter protection.”
