PteroDynamics stands at the forefront of innovation in autonomous VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) fixed-wing drone technology. UST is thrilled to announce our partnership with PteroDynamics as a supplier, and we will be showcasing their extraordinary solutions and capabilities across our platforms over the coming year.
We have recently unveiled the UST supplier profile for PteroDynamics, crafted in collaboration with their team. This Gold profile highlights their cutting-edge folding-wing UAS platform, which is built on the company’s proprietary Transwing® technology.

The Transwing technology features a groundbreaking folding wing mechanism that allows the aircraft to transition effortlessly from vertical takeoff to horizontal flight. this design merges the agility of multirotors with the enhanced efficiency and range typical of fixed-wing aircraft. as a result,it offers extended range and endurance,a reduced operational footprint, quicker cruising speeds, and exceptional stability during VTOL operations, even in gusty conditions.
The Transwing platform is designed to automate the timely delivery of high-value, mission-critical cargo to remote and challenging locations that lack runways, which would typically necessitate manned aircraft or other costly alternatives. Thes aircraft are especially well-suited for military and civil maritime logistics, autonomous cargo transport to inaccessible areas, linear inspections, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), and public safety operations.
PteroDynamics has successfully supplied its VTOL fixed-wing drones to the US Navy as part of the Blue Water UAS maritime logistics initiative and has collaborated with Leidos on DARPA’s ANCILLARY project.
Three distinct platforms have been developed by PteroDynamics based on the Transwing design:
X-P4: A UAV with a 4-meter wingspan featuring an electric powertrain, tailored for critical logistics operations.
X-P5: A versatile folding-wing drone with a 7-meter wingspan, equipped with a hybrid electric/combustion engine (currently in the design phase).
X-P6: A heavy-lift VTOL drone capable of carrying a 100 kg payload, powered by a turbogenerator (in future design plans).
