Enhancing ISR Capabilities: Trillium Engineering Partners wiht SightX

Trillium Engineering has joined forces with SightX, a pioneering company in Edge AI technology, to integrate SightX’s sophisticated artificial intelligence into Trillium’s gimbal systems. This collaboration aims to broaden Trillium’s data product offerings and considerably enhance the operational capabilities of customers engaged in Intelligence,Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.

Revolutionary AI Integration for Enhanced Performance

SightX’s Merlin software introduces a cutting-edge multi-object acquisition engine tailored for critical airborne missions across various wavelengths. By merging these advanced processing features with Trillium’s premium raw video capabilities at the edge, the partnership provides a crucial advantage to military personnel. this integration minimizes data overload at ground stations and boosts the effectiveness of operations in environments where interaction is restricted.

Advanced Object Detection and Tracking

All gimbals produced by Trillium are now equipped to detect, track, and classify objects in both visible and infrared spectrums, allowing for a human operator to be ‘on the loop’ rather than constantly ‘in the loop’. This shift enhances operational efficiency and situational awareness.

“This innovation will significantly improve the precision and effectiveness of ISR operations,” stated Ryan O’Connor, trillium’s Vice President of Engineering. “Our partnership with SightX enhances geolocation accuracy, increases the ability to extract meaningful insights from video feeds, and enables onboard data processing for Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).Consequently, operators will receive only the most pertinent data in a superior quality format for analysis.”

state-of-the-Art Features and Ground Station Support

Trillium gimbals now feature onboard processing capabilities that support target location identification beyond Category 1, alongside high-definition video, still image capture, and data downlinking. Furthermore, Trillium’s SkyLink ground station software offers a robust user interface for gimbal management, video and telemetry recording, target tracking, and a 3D mapping system that displays target breadcrumbs and measurements.

“These advanced functionalities are not currently available for Group 2 or 3 UAS gimbals,” remarked Mark Mirelez, CEO of Trillium Engineering. “The implications of these capabilities are vast, with significant applications in both military and commercial sectors, facilitating POL data collection, object identification, and, crucially, enabling AI processing in GPS-denied environments.”
