OceanAlpha, a pioneer in the field of unmanned surface vessels (USVs), is set to unveil its latest innovation, the M40P long-endurance multi-functional USV, at the Oceanology International 2020 (OI2020) event in London.
Measuring 5 meters in length, the M40P boasts an impressive payload capacity of 80 kg, enabling it to transport a diverse array of sensors for applications such as geomagnetic variation monitoring, seafloor multibeam mapping, hydrographic surveys, underwater construction assessments, and various other oceanographic studies. Its advanced automatic repositioning system and energy-efficient mode make it notably suited for prolonged observation and survey operations, while the hybrid power system, combining battery and diesel generator, ensures operational longevity of up to 240 hours.
Along with the M40P, OceanAlpha will present its 3.3-meter M40 autonomous USV and demonstrate the Dolphin1 Smart Lifebuoy, a remotely operated device designed to assist in water rescues.
