The VOXL 2 is a lightweight, single-board drone autopilot utilizing the Qualcomm QRB5165 processor. Weighing a mere 16 grams, this Blue UAS Framework-approved device combines a flight controller with a companion computer, delivering an impressive 15 TOPS of AI processing power and accommodating seven simultaneous MIPI inputs for straightforward integration of EO, thermal, TOF, and CV cameras.
The VOXL SDK offers a variety of open-source software algorithms ready for immediate deployment, including multi-camera visual inertial odometry (VIO) for navigation in GPS-denied environments, visual obstacle avoidance (VOA) for secure flight in complex spaces, and 3D mapping and path planning for autonomous operations in dynamic settings.
The VOXL 2 Mini is engineered to infuse AI-driven autonomy into the smallest drones, mirroring the computing capabilities of the VOXL 2 within an ultra-compact 42 x 42mm design.
This miniature board supports five simultaneous MIPI inputs and features a standard 30.5 x 30.5 mm frame for mounting.
The Starling 2 serves as an NDAA-compliant drone advancement platform, powered by ModalAI’s VOXL 2 BlueUAS Framework autopilot. tailored for indoor UAS applications, it boasts a robust suite of five imaging sensors and offers a range of autonomous features, including precise visual inertial odometry, visual obstacle avoidance, and SLAM capabilities.
Weighing only 280 grams, the compact Starling 2 provides an impressive flight duration of 40 minutes, complete with built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and options for either a Ghost Atto or Express LRS radio receiver.
The Starling 2 Max is the larger variant of the Starling open drone development platform, designed for outdoor applications that rely on computer vision for dead reckoning. Powered by the VOXL 2 flight controller, it features a suite of NDAA-compliant imaging sensors, including dual 1MP fisheye CV cameras for visual inertial odometry, forward and downward 12MP cameras for image streaming and capture, and a FLIR Lepton thermal imager.
This versatile platform also supports an additional payload capacity of 500 grams and offers up to 55 minutes of flight time.
Stinger Vision is a compact FPV drone designed for indoor reconnaissance, providing 12 minutes of flight time and constructed with a protective airframe for enhanced safety. Utilizing ModalAI’s proprietary FPV streaming technology, it offers long-range, low-latency encrypted video streaming and features various AI-assisted flight modes, enabling pilots to operate confidently with minimal training and no prior FPV experience.
This NDAA-compliant platform is powered by the VOXL 2 Mini autopilot and includes a 4MP color image sensor for FPV streaming and capture, dual CV cameras for autonomous flight, and a downward thermal camera for nighttime positioning. It can also be optionally outfitted with a 640×480 FLIR Boson+ thermal imager.
