Ophir Optronics has unveiled the LightIR f/3.6 series of high-performance continuous zoom lenses, specifically designed for MWIR 640×512 VGA 10µm detectors. These lenses are particularly suited for low-SWaP thermal imaging tasks, including tactical UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) gimbals and payloads.
The newly launched series comprises three models, offering focal lengths of 10-135 mm, 16-180 mm, and 18-225 mm. Notably, the 16-180 mm variant employs a folded optics design, wich substantially reduces the size of the integrated optical system. This innovative approach allows for longer optical lengths while minimizing sensitivity to tolerances in compact setups.
