Innovative Collaboration in Unmanned Marine Technology
Domo Tactical Communications (DTC) has introduced its advanced RF mesh radio technology to establish a secure communication link for a prototype unmanned surface vessel (USV) created by Robosys Automation.
Showcasing Cutting-Edge Autopilot Software
This vessel, developed in partnership with DTC, Ring Powercraft, and Ambex Marine, aims to highlight Robosys’ latest Voyager intelligent autopilot software tailored for both commercial and leisure marine applications. The design is based on the RoboRat, a compact USV engineered by ring for inshore reconnaissance and surveying tasks. Equipped with SIMRAD navigation tools and specialized electronics from Ambex Marine, the RoboRat utilizes DTC’s encrypted RF communication system for remote operation and real-time data transmission for analysis.
Advanced Navigation and Safety Features
the Voyager software integrates data from onboard chart systems, radar, AIS, and visual imagery to navigate and execute safe routes, fully compliant with COLREGS collision regulations. This system can be customized to accommodate any power-driven vessel, regardless of size.
Testing and Future Developments
The ongoing testing phase is concentrating on refining the system’s performance in busy and constrained waterways using a smaller platform. later this year, Robosys plans to implement the Voyager system on two larger ocean-going vessels for extensive trials across diverse environmental and operational scenarios.
