The Hybrid CTD employs a groundbreaking method for measuring conductivity that merges the benefits of both electrode and inductive sensing techniques, delivering exceptional accuracy and precision at depths reaching 11,000 meters. It features a high-resolution strain-gauge pressure sensor, state-of-the-art solid-state electronics, and advanced signal processing, along with a selection of industry-standard or top-tier temperature sensors.

This sensor’s proprietary technology allows for a more compact and lightweight design, making it particularly suitable for AUVs and underwater robotic systems. Additionally,it can operate without a pump for most applications, facilitating free-flushing.

The Hybrid CTD boasts an unparalleled array of features, setting it apart from any othre deepwater CTD sensing solution available. With high-speed sampling capabilities, users can choose rates of up to 25 Hz, and it supports the connection of additional third-party sensors through A/D and serial interfaces. Data can be transmitted via USB, RS-232, or RS-485, and can also be sent through a wire line using commercially available telemetry systems.

The UL-CTD matches the Hybrid CTD in precision and depth performance but operates with a mere 50 mW power consumption, making it one of the most energy-efficient closed-field CTDs on the market.Users can select sample rates of either 1 or 2 Hz.

With options for aluminum, stainless steel, or titanium housings, the sensor’s compact design and low power requirements make it ideal for size, weight, and power (SWaP)-constrained systems such as small UUVs, ocean gliders, and USV-towed arrays.

D-2’s economical Ocean CT sensor offers a reliable solution for conductivity and temperature measurements at depths of up to 500 meters. It combines an inductive conductivity cell with a high-stability glass tube housing and an industry-standard temperature thermistor, ensuring high sensitivity and the ability to operate with free-flushing.

This sensor provides continuous sampling at 2 Hz, outputting conductivity, temperature, and salinity data in ASCII format via CMOS, RS-485, or RS-232 interfaces. All units undergo full calibration in D-2’s ISO-17025-certified laboratory and can be equipped with anti-biofouling coatings for enhanced durability during extended deployments.

D-2’s cutting-edge full ocean depth CTD sensor calibration facility, located on the East Coast of the United States, enables the company to offer precise calibration services for both proprietary and third-party sensors, with rapid turnaround times as short as five business days.

The company also provides custom and OEM services, offering tailored CTD solutions for integration into any unmanned vehicle platform or existing sensor suite. For more information about these services, please reach out to us.
