Collaborative Efforts for Regulatory Influence and Standardization
Members of the HAPS Alliance work together with various organizations to shape regulatory policies while highlighting the advantages of HAPS technology in the stratosphere. The Alliance’s working groups unite industry experts to create product specifications and encourage standardization thru several key initiatives:
- Telecommunications: Advocate for the global harmonization of HAPS spectrum at both the ITU and national levels, influencing the development of emerging commercial standards, including 3GPP non-terrestrial networks.
- Aviation: Promote a cooperative approach to managing upper airspace, which includes collaborative testing, simulations, and pilot programs.
- defense: Contribute valuable insights to the HAPS Alliance community, leveraging collective expertise from the defense sector.
- Commercialization: Showcase the industry’s potential to prospective clients and cultivate a collaborative HAPS ecosystem.
- Interoperability: Establish product specifications and advocate for the standardization of interoperable HAPS network components.
