TEKEVER Unveils Integration of Digital Services with ASTRIIS Platform
TEKEVER has demonstrated the effective integration of its digital services with the ASTRIIS platform, highlighting notable advancements in Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).
Milestone Event in Lisbon
The event took place at the Museu das Comunicações in Lisbon, marking a pivotal moment in the ASTRIIS (Atlantic sustainability Thru Remote and In-situ Integrated Solutions) national collaborative initiative.
Objectives of the ASTRIIS Project
The ASTRIIS initiative aims to improve monitoring capabilities of the Atlantic Ocean, focusing on leveraging information products and services within the Marine economy, which holds substantial growth potential. The project has developed strategies to create a detailed catalog of products and services derived from data collection through in-situ observations, remote sensing, numerical modeling, and predictive analytics.
Collaboration and Technological Demonstration
In partnership with notable organizations such as CEIIA, Instituto Superior Técnico, and COLAB Atlantic, TEKEVER has crafted digital solutions that integrate seamlessly with the ASTRIIS platform. A key highlight of the demonstration was a Search and Rescue operation at sea, utilizing the AR5 aerial system, supported by additional vessels.
Real-Time Operations and Efficiency
Managed from the TEKEVER Ground Control System, the operation showcased real-time planning, management, and execution of drone missions and payloads, with stakeholders engaging remotely via the ASTRIIS platform. impressively, a Man Overboard scenario was addressed within just 30 minutes of the operation’s initiation.
TEKEVER’s Leadership in Maritime Surveillance
TEKEVER’s dedication to innovation in maritime surveillance was highlighted, reinforcing its position as a global frontrunner in real-time maritime awareness. with over ten years of experience in autonomous system development, TEKEVER provides surveillance solutions that adapt to the changing needs of clients, offering a wide array of services for real-time operations and historical data analysis.
Future of maritime Surveillance
This prosperous demonstration not only showcases the technological progress achieved through collaboration but also signals the dawn of a new era in enhanced maritime surveillance and response capabilities.
Insights from Project Leaders
Aleksandra Nadziejko, deputy project coordinator of ASTRIIS, stressed the vital role of UAS integration in addressing issues such as illegal fishing, trafficking, pollution, and search and rescue operations. She pointed out that drones serve as essential tools that complement satellite services and in-situ methods for monitoring oceans and coastlines. Nadziejko emphasized the project’s commitment to improving interoperability and developing multi-sensor strategies to detect pollution and support various applications.
looking Ahead
Antonio Relvas, director of Innovation at TEKEVER UAS, praised the collaborative efforts propelling the ASTRIIS project forward. He expressed hope that this initiative could inspire similar collaborative projects throughout Europe. Relvas acknowledged the contributions of partners like CEIIA and Instituto superior Técnico in enhancing access to crucial resources for monitoring the Atlantic.
