Introducing the Sentry Mesh 6161-L: A Leap Forward in Tactical Dialog
CODAN, in collaboration with Domo Tactical Communications (DTC), has unveiled the Sentry Mesh 6161-L radio, a importent addition to the Sentry Series lineup that enhances the capabilities of CODAN | DTC’s offerings.
Advanced Software Defined radio Technology
The Sentry Mesh 6161-L is engineered with CODAN’s proven MANET MESH waveforms, which have demonstrated reliability across various military applications, including special forces operations and unmanned systems. This series encompasses a range of solutions, including HF, VHF, MANET, and interoperability options.
Optimized Bandwidth and Communication Efficiency
Utilizing MeshUltra technology, the Sentry Mesh 6161-L efficiently manages available channel bandwidth through a unique ‘Token Passing’ mechanism. this approach minimizes data collisions and ensures consistent packet latency. The combination of broader bandwidth and an advanced Interference Avoidance System (IAS) enhances communication effectiveness, especially in challenging environments, while also safeguarding against Electronic Attack (EA).
Enhanced Performance with MIMO Architecture
With a power output of up to 2 watts and a 2×2 MIMO RF architecture, the Sentry Mesh 6161-L optimizes data throughput and minimizes signal drop-outs by employing two separate transmit and receive channels. In environments filled with obstacles that can cause signal reflections and cancellations, MIMO technology significantly improves performance.
Streamlined Design for Operational Efficiency
This radio is meticulously designed to offer an optimized size, weight, and Power (SWaP) profile, allowing users to lighten their mission load while enhancing sensor connectivity. It supports voice, positioning, and data functionalities within the Mesh MANET network and can seamlessly connect with unmanned systems utilizing DTC technology.
Commitment to Soldier Modernization
“The Sentry Mesh 6161-L is tailored to meet the evolving requirements of Soldier Modernization initiatives, continuing CODAN’s legacy of innovation and responsiveness to the needs of warfighters. Our goal is to ensure they remain connected, secure, and ultimately, to save lives,” stated Paul Sangster, President of CODAN Communications.
