The Meller Flat Sapphire windows boast a Mohs hardness rating of 9, making them nearly as hard as diamonds. They can endure extreme temperatures of up to 1,000ºC and pressures reaching 10,000 psi. Additionally, these windows are chemically inert, waterproof, and highly resistant to abrasion.
These windows are particularly well-suited for the protection of vision systems and sensors in hypersonic aircraft and military applications, offering transmission capabilities from ultraviolet to infrared wavelengths.
With surface finishes ranging from 60-40 to 40-20 scratch-dig, flatness maintained to 0.5 fringes of HeNe, and parallelism specifications from 20 to 2 arc seconds, Meller Flat Sapphire windows can be customized to include various mounting profiles, including multiple steps.
Manufactured according to client specifications, these windows can be produced in sizes from 0.250” to 10” in outer diameter, with customizable wall thicknesses.
