Advanced Navigation Unveils new Boreas A Series of DFOG Sensors

Advanced Navigation has announced the launch of its latest Boreas A Series, enhancing its lineup of digital fibre-optic gyroscope (DFOG) sensors. The new Boreas A90 and A70 models are designed as strategic-grade inertial measurement units (IMUs) that provide exceptional accuracy, stability, and reliability in delivering acceleration and orientation data. These features make them especially suitable for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and various unmanned systems across multiple environments.

Both the Boreas A90 and A70 are equipped with ultra-precise DFOGs and advanced closed-loop accelerometers. The A90 model is tailored for ultra-high performance, while the A70 serves as a robust high-performance alternative. Additionally, users can opt for a license that enables inertial navigation system (INS) capabilities and facilitates integration with external GNSS receivers through Advanced Navigation’s extensive array of interfaces and dialog protocols.

Unmatched Gyrocompassing and versatility

These systems feature rapid automatic gyrocompassing, allowing them to accurately determine and maintain heading in all conditions without relying on GNSS. This capability makes them ideal for applications in surveying, mapping, and navigation across subsea, marine, terrestrial, and aerial domains.

The boreas series incorporates Advanced Navigation’s cutting-edge sensor fusion algorithm, which surpasses conventional extended Kalman filters.
