Triad RF Systems has announced a significant achievement, having received a design and production contract from a leading aerospace and defense firm in South Asia.This order pertains to a cutting-edge high-powered radio system tailored for Group 2 unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Introducing the THPR1039: A Breakthrough in UAS Communication

The THPR1039 is a robust L-Band radio system, delivering 10W of power (5W per channel) and built on the SOLO8 dual-MIMO technology from Domo Tactical Communications. This system is engineered for long-distance UAS video transmission and command-and-control (C2) data links, achieving impressive RF link distances exceeding 50 kilometers in both terrestrial and aerial applications. The design integrates high-power amplification with specialized filtering, all within a user-friendly package.

Lightweight Design for Enhanced Performance

In the realm of Group 2 UAS,minimizing payload weight is crucial for optimizing flight time and mission effectiveness. Triad was tasked with creating a radio system that adhered to strict weight constraints. To address this, the THPR1039’s casing was constructed from magnesium alloy, a departure from the conventional aluminum alloys typically used in RF system housings. this innovative choice resulted in a final weight of just 32 ounces (less than 1 kg), achieving a remarkable 33% reduction compared to conventional aluminum units.
