Enhancing Cold-Weather UAV Operations Through Strategic Partnership
Canadian UAVs and ARA Robotics have joined forces to enhance beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) operations for remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) in frigid environments.
Innovative Collaboration for Extreme Conditions
Through a recently established Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), ARA Robotics will integrate its advanced cold-weather UAVs with Canadian UAVs’ Sparrowhawk radar and Tasker fleet management software, facilitating BVLOS operations.
Robust Capabilities for Remote Operations
This collaboration merges the Canadian Detect and Avoid (DAA) system with a line of small UAVs designed to withstand harsh cold, enabling dependable remote operations through mobile and satellite communications, all supported by a proprietary software framework.
The comprehensive capabilities offered will significantly benefit users in the northern regions, including remote communities and the mining industry.
Leadership Insights on the Partnership
Pascal Chiva-Bernard, CEO of ARA Robotics, stated, “In recent years, ARA Robotics has reached a pivotal milestone, demonstrating the advanced capabilities of our aircraft solutions tailored for mining and military operations in challenging weather and specialized missions. Our partnership with Canadian UAVs highlights our dedication to providing outstanding solutions and services throughout Canada.”
“By leveraging Canadian uavs’ expertise in BVLOS operations across various UAV sizes and their proprietary Sparrowhawk technology, we are merging our strengths to deliver a high-value, customized solution for this demanding and emerging market. Together,we are well-equipped to support industries in need of specialized, commercially viable UAV solutions.”
Sean Greenwood, President and CEO of Canadian UAVs, remarked, “After nearly ten years of experience in the remote northern mining and oil sectors of Canada, we have finally partnered with an OEM that understands the extreme requirements of this environment while maintaining a competitive price point.”
“By integrating our offerings, clients can operate more efficiently across a wider range of weather conditions. With operations managed and optimized in Tasker,Sparrowhawk ensuring airspace safety, and ARA’s UAVs designed for colder climates, clients receive a comprehensive solution at a competitive price.”
