Germanium optics are widely utilized in thermal imaging systems due to their effective transmission capabilities in both the Mid-Wave Infrared (MWIR) and Long-Wave Infrared (LWIR) ranges.

At knight Optical, we specialize in crafting custom germanium lenses tailored to meet specific client needs. Our extensive catalogue features a significant selection of both aspheric and convex germanium lenses.

We offer lenses with diameters starting from 100mm and recommend applying an anti-reflective (AR) coating to enhance transmission efficiency within the desired waveband. For exposed surfaces, a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating is highly recommended, as it substantially improves surface durability.
