The Textron Systems Aerosonde® Mk. 4.7 Fixed-Wing UAS is a high-performance unmanned aircraft designed for reliable operation in a wide range of environments, including land and vessel-based deployments. It is launched using a hydraulic pneumatic launcher and recovered via net, making it suitable for use in areas with limited space.
The system operates with a heavy fuel engine capable of running on JP-5, JP-8, F44, Jet-A, or Jet-A1. It supports up to six payloads on a single flight, with over 40 payload options available, including:
- EO/IR imaging systems
- Maritime wide-area search
- SAR (synthetic aperture radar) and AIS (Automatic Identification System)
- EW (electronic warfare) and SIGINT (signals intelligence) payloads
- LiDAR sensors
- MANET (mobile ad-hoc networking) communications
