Overview of Airmar’s Marine Transducers
Here, we present a selection of Airmar’s readily available single- and multi-beam marine transducers. For unique requirements,Airmar also engages in custom transducer progress to align with specific frequency and housing needs.
Featured Transducers
M190 Underwater Ultrasonic Transducer
The M190 is designed for deep-sea surveying and sub-bottom profiling, featuring low-ringing arrays that ensure outstanding performance and detail. Its robust stainless-steel internal structure minimizes impact damage, while the seamless SEALCAST urethane housing guarantees longevity in operational life.
This transducer can be installed in a fiberglass hull or adapted for portable use. Various stuffing tubes are available to create a watertight conduit for cable routing, compatible with all hull types. It offers four low-frequency options ranging from 12 kHz to 33 kHz.
M194 Chirp-Ready Transducer
The M194 operates at 200 kHz and is optimized for shallow-water,river,harbor,and estuary surveys. Its design minimizes side lobes, focusing energy on targets for superior definition. The transducer can be “chirped” with a long pulse across a broad frequency range, allowing users with adjustable-frequency echosounders to customize the operating frequency and beamwidth for specific survey conditions.
M563 High-Sensitivity Broadband Transducer
The M563 is a high-sensitivity broadband marine transducer ideal for shallow-water and coastal surveys, delivering remarkable performance across low-frequency (25-45 kHz) and high-frequency bands. It produces clear waveforms at distinct frequencies and supports broadband Chirp or coded waveforms.
This assembly can be mounted on a towed body, directly to various hull materials, or as an in-hull installation in fiberglass for precise echo sounding. The durable SEALCAST urethane housing ensures extended underwater operational life.
M74 Low-Frequency Marine Transducer
Available in 12 kHz or 15 kHz options, the M74 features ceramic arrays that excel in deep-water performance for survey echosounding and detailed sub-bottom profiling. It also supports chirp capabilities with longer pulses across a wide frequency spectrum.
Customization of impedance is possible through a matching transformer, and bulkhead or in-line connectors can be provided based on specific requirements.
SS538 Chirp-Ready Stainless Steel Transducer
The SS538 is a 200 kHz stainless steel underwater transducer, known for its sensitivity in shallow-water, river, harbor, and estuary surveys. It can be chirped with a long pulse over a wide frequency range, allowing users to adjust the operating frequency and beamwidth to meet specific survey needs. Frequency options include 80-130 kHz, 130-210 kHz, and 200 kHz.
SS549 High-Frequency Survey transducer
The SS549 is tailored for shallow water, river, and coastal survey applications, featuring a narrow beamwidth and high-frequency capabilities. Its 3° narrow beam and low side lobes ensure high-precision surveys.
Constructed with a sturdy stainless-steel housing, this assembly can be easily attached to portable equipment using a threaded stem.
SS134 Small Side-Scan Transducer
The SS134 is a compact side-scan transducer with a 0.5°x48° beamwidth, designed for oceanographic applications such as detailed bottom mapping. It is indeed available in high-frequency versions of 340 kHz and 500 kHz, with custom configurations upon request.
SS82 Large Side-Scan transducer
The SS82 is a large 200 kHz side-scan transducer featuring a 0.5°x48° beamwidth, suitable for demanding oceanographic tasks, including high-resolution surveying and bottom mapping.A dual-beam version is also available, with custom configurations offered as needed.
